The challenge of this renovation was to transform an apartment with uninhabited basement and an adjacent garage to a generous family home. The excisting extension was in a very bad state, the basement dark en low, all the rooms on different levels. After the conversion the former garage is transformed to a generous eat-in kitchen. A big light entrace hall offers space to bicycles and covered open-air parties.A big opening connects kitchen and living room to eachother. The multifuncional furniture which combines bench, stairs and working space offers creates storage for shoes and children toys. Big sliding doors make a strong connection to the garden. In the basement the wooden beams in the ceilings are exposed to gain height. Two entrances on each side of the bathroom provide penetration of light. High sleepers with integrated storage create space in the little children's rooms.
